Origami Dress Wall Art Project

origami art
I’ve been so busy sharing our little science experiments and my BlogHer prep work, it feel like forever since I’ve actually been creative.  Rest assured, with a new antique booth to get set up I have been running around, painting, polishing, and today I made a little something that didn’t take anytime but sure does look cute!  (And these weren’t for the booth…they were for me!)

You know I love origami dresses, right?  Sure there are other styles but I like to stick with the original design I made all those ornaments with last year.  Like I said, I just love those little paper dresses and decided it was about time I just framed them and put them on the wall….or shelf.
Supplies
  • Scrapbooking paper pick a few designs
  • frames
  • glue
  • paint (only if you need to repaint your frames)
Directions

Watch this tutorial and make a bunch of dresses.

Assemble your frames.

Repaint the super cheap frames a matching color…plus I think it helps them look more chic.  Sorry no pics.  Coordinate and cut paper to serve as wallpaper for your dresses.

Frame ‘em up and hang them on the wall.

Or, set them on the shelf.

  1. Awe . . . I love this project. And I have to laugh, because just YESTERDAY I found myself folding paper into dresses . . . REALLY! Actually, it was my nieces birthday and I wanted to fold the money I was giving to her for her gift into something fun, so I googled and watched a few tutorials on folding bill size paper into a dress. It was a big hit when she opened her card! LOVE this post and project, my friend!

  2. What a fun idea! I made dresses like this for Mother's Day, but now you've inspired me to make more to frame for my girls.
