Peanut Butter and Banana Scones

@mvemother Peanut Butter and Banana Scones

On the way home from a trip to the park, that R.E.M. Andy Kaufman song, Man on the Moon, came on and I just love it so much that when I got home I decided to whip up some Elvis inspired scones.  Elvis?  Andy Kaufman?  If you’re missing the connection listen to the song, it’ll all come back to you!

These Peanut Butter and Banana Scones have managed to become my new favorite.  There’s something about the smell of PB melting in the oven that warms my home as much as any cinnamon scented candle.  Hope your family enjoys them as much as we do!

Craft Lightning: Glitter Spider Web Trivets

@mvemother Glitter Spider Web Trivets

Last year, I made these super quick and easy Spider Web Clings but this time instead of making webs for the windows I wanted to make a trivet for our Halloween table.  After a night on Google and Pinterest I found this very stylish, glittered web via Redbook.

Is it just me or do magazines have a habit of complicating an otherwise simple craft?  There’s no need to tape wax paper together or try to use a spatula to remove your web, all you need to do is follow these easy instructions and you’ll be able to serve up all your Halloween d├ęcor on a spider web.

I’m happy to add that this is an official Craft Lightning Project!  Check out Moore Craft Time and The Country Chic Cottage all week long as they share and feature crafts that take less than 15 minutes to complete (not counting dry time).
