Filling in the Squares

It’s Friday night, the kids are downstairs with Nate watching a movie and I’m sitting at the computer reading and filling in the squares of my calendar with submission deadlines.  I may have given up on my NaBloPoMo plans for the month but that’s only because I’ve got bigger plans in the works.

With all the major painting projects out of the way, this week has been about the little fixes around the house we’ve grown to ignore, like the window sills that act like Venus flytraps.  Gross.

In between those projects I’ve been trying to re-focus my goals for this blog-o-mine as well as integrating blog post ideas with homeschooling lessons and personal calendar items.  If you looked in my planner right now you might get the impression I’m a ‘busy’ person.  Still, I’m happy to say I’m getting there and I hope to start a more structured posting schedule in February.

In the meantime here are a few blogs I’ve been picking up blogging tips, decorating inspirations, and homeschooling info. Logo

BlogHer – There is so much on this site worth reading, this post ties in well with my desire to get back into writing. Unfortunately there are many topics I want to write about but I don’t think they’d fit well with MVEM.

The Girl Creative

The Girl Creative – Yes, they have great DIY projects, but for me their blogging tips are awesome.  A big plus is that they work in Blogger, NOT Wordpress, format so I can easily follow their tips and tutorials.

Inspired Ideas – This is an affordable online magazine that’s pure eye candy for the crafter in us all!

Miss Mustard Seed's Creative Blog

Miss Mustard Seed – Another site I can’t believe I haven’t stalked until now!  Even more than her great content I just love the clean layout of this blog.

PBS Parents – Okay, I should’ve been bragging on this site a long time ago. I don’t know how I didn’t know about it until now.

  1. Oh, what a great list of resources for us all. I remember meeting Amy Powers at TCC. I feel like such a goofball, because I did not know of her prior to that time. When I met her, I was like, "So, Amy . . . what do you do?" DUH!!! How embarassing!

Thank you for leaving a comment, it really means a lot to me!
