As a mother of four, a trip to Walmart, though usually necessary, can quickly turn into an all-day affair. There's the prep work (packing diaper bags, combing hair, tying shoes, etc.), then there's all the little side trips while you're in the store (to the front of the store, to the bathroom, to the back of the store, etc.), and finally there's the loading, unloading, and putting away only to realize you forgot what you went shopping for in the first place!
Over the past year I’ve started shopping online, as a way to avoid the crowds and busyness that can bring on a migraine. During that time I’ve come to realize I’m saving myself from more than a headache!
So what exactly does shopping online save me?
Online Coupons - There are a few key ways you can save money through online shopping but one of the easiest is by using online coupons. Many of the sites and stores, you regularly shop offer coupons you can use both online and in the store. Start searching for them, printing them out, and/or adding them to loyalty reward cards. When it comes to online shopping you never know how much a one-minute search could end up saving you, but it’s always worth the effort.
Pay Back Programs - While you’re searching for coupons make sure that search is making you a little money too. There are a number of apps, programs, and search engines that offer gift cards, products, and even cash back when you use them to make your online purchase!
Online Only Deals - Another way to save money while shopping online is taking advantage of online-only deals. Right now, you can find Pennzoil products on Rollback at Walmart.com for a limited time.
Since we live in a rural community, most drives are long drives and our vehicles rack up the mileage pretty quick. Shopping online it was easy for me to read up about Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage Vehicle Motor Oil on Walmart.com. It’s specially designed to help reduce leaks and oil consumption in late model vehicles, like mine, that have over 75,000 miles.
Ordering from Walmart.com you have any number of delivery options, including curbside assistance. I opted to have the oil delivered straight to the house, but if you’re out and about, you can always pick it up at the store too.
This one is really simple, online stores are open at all hours so you shop when it's convenient for you. So if the baby’s napping, it’s late at night, or maybe you don’t want to be seen in your yoga pants, you can still do your shopping online. Plus, you can usually find niche items online that aren’t available in stores.
Online shopping saves your sanity! There are no lines on your laptop, no parking lots, no cart banging into the back of your heel, no obligatory trips to the toy department, no getting in line and realizing you forgot something...it can go on and on!
Another side effect - you stop running out of fabric softener. Walmart.com is a one stop shop for many of our day to day needs. Knowing it’s going to take a couple days for an order to arrive I find myself thinking ahead, looking at to-do lists, and getting prepared. Finally, no more late-night trips to the store for laundry soap!
