Holiday Advent Activities Mobile

This year instead of giving advent gifts, make memories! It's a great way to celebrate the joy of the season all month long without spending a ton of money and it'll help your family bond over the holidays!
I received product in exchange for this post, the opinions expressed are my own.

Everyone knows one of the best ways to extend the spirit of the holidays is to create an advent. This year instead of giving tokens or sweets (in the past we've even gifted books) we're going to save a few bucks and create some memories! With PSA Essentials Stamps and this handy list of activities we created a Holiday Advent Activities Mobile.

This year instead of giving advent gifts, make memories! It's a great way to celebrate the joy of the season all month long without spending a ton of money and it'll help your family bond over the holidays!

@MVEMother Reviews: POSTRGRAM.COM

@Mvemother Reviews: Postrgram A great family photo gift idea and home decor item. Perfect for moving all your Instagram and Facebook to print!
I received product in exchange for this review. The opinions expressed are my own.

Nowadays the majority of my family photos are digital and getting them on paper seems like an impossible task. Maybe it's just because I have a rural (i.e. slower than you could possibly imagine) connection; uploading photos for printing has literally taking me days in the past. Thankfully, companies like Postrgram are making it easier for all those precious moments, captured and shared, to go from the screen to print.

With the help of different tile settings, tints and hues, Postrgram creates a mosaic made up of your images. Here's a quick breakdown of how it works.

Washi Tape Crafts

I received a copy of Washi Tape Crafts in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.
Some of you may be familiar with Amy Anderson, she is the founder of modpodgerocksblog.com and author or Mod Podge Rocks!. What you may not know is that her crafty talents extend beyond decoupage. She is also the creative force behind washitapecrafts.com and last month released Washi Tape Crafts. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be sharing a little about the book with you today as well as some of my favorite projects from the book, like this Advent Calendar.

Take a Seat: Reupholstery Project with Minted

Disclosure: I received five yards of fabric free of charge as part of this project, opinions expressed are my own. I feel that I should also warn you this is a photo heavy post.

You might remember a couple months ago I took part in the August Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest. Well, I lucked out again and this time the sponsor is MINTED!

"We believe that great design lives and thrives in the hands of independent artists that people do not have access through traditional retailers. Minted uses technology to allow consumers to discover great creative talent, making Minted a place where artists can learn, gain exposure, and build their businesses." -Minted.com

I completely admit to letting out a fangirl squeal when I realized I'd made the cut. Minted is an online marketplace where artists can submit their designs for the public to see and vote upon. Their entire site has a clean feel that spotlights the artists they promote and it's really enjoyable to look through. When the winners have been selected Minted sells their work in the form of home decor, stationery, artwork, and fabric. Which brings us to this month's contest.

For this Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest the theme is Take a Seat and as you may have guessed all the contestants have been tasked with creating a reupholstery project featuring fabric from Minted. This month's hosts are Colleen and Stacy. I love what Colleen has done with a vintage Lewitte chair and you know I'm a sucker for modern art  like the look Stacy has created. Be sure to stop by both their blogs to see for yourself and check out what the other contestants came up with, it'll be at the end of their posts. If you're interested in participating in future contests just send a message to info@fabfurnitureflippincontest.com.

Seasonal Printables featuring Core'dinations Glitter Prints

This post is brought to you by Core’dinations Glitter Prints use these flake-free glitter pages to create frameable printables!

This post is brought to you by Core’dinations Glitter Prints and Blueprint Social.
The opinions are my own.

Like every living creature on this earth, I like shiny and shimmery things. Face it, it's in our DNA and thankfully as a crafter I can unabashedly indulge in a bit of glitter from time to time. The problem is glitter is super messy and it lingers around long after the project's been finished. Thankfully, someone has heard our complaints and come up with a solution, Core’dinations Glitter Prints.

Core’dinations Glitter Prints is uniquely smooth glitter paper you can easily use in any inkjet printer, whether at home or the office. Sincerely, it leaves no shiny leftovers in or on your machine! No matter how roughly you run your hand over the paper it will not flake! Trust me, I tried. Since the glitter doesn't flake off not only is it less messy, the color stays vibrant.

While the crafting possibilities are endless, I chose to create a couple holiday printables to frame and decorate with this holiday season.

This post is brought to you by Core'dinations Glitter Prints. This flake-proof glitter paper turns free printables into frameable works of art.

Craft Lightning: Fringed Juice Lid Ornaments

Every time I say Craft Lightning, "Grease Lightning" starts playing in my head.
So, guess what time it is, "Go Craft Lightning, Go Craft Lightning!"

Craft Lightning is code for quick and easy, these Fringed Juice Lid Ornaments are just that. Easy enough for kids to craft and perfect for adding a rustic feel to your holiday decor.

I told myself I wasn't going to make a single ornament this year, who was I kidding? I'm not sure if this one will fit into the Instagram Photo-A-Day Challenge we're doing this month, but it might. (Be sure to check it out and follow along at #NUOrnaments15!)

Back to today's project and yes, it's an ornament. In keeping with the craft lightning requirements it takes less than 15 minutes to complete.

To make your own Fringed Juice Lid Ornaments you'll need:

Handmade Holidays Blog Hop 2015

This year marks the 5th annual Handmade Holiday Blog Hop and I'm so excited to be one of its contributors! I'm really excited about the gift I made but before I jump right into the how-to I want to make sure you know there are links, and a giveaway, for you to check out at the bottom of the post.

It's Handmade Holidays blog hop time!

One of my daughter's favorite things to do is draw and frankly, she's pretty good at it. At least I think so and it's hard to argue the merit of a child's artwork with a parent.

You know who else fauns over your little one's handy work? Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and even family friends. Thankfully, it's really easy to turn all their creations into creative, one-of-a-kind gifts!

Use your kids' drawings to create one of a kind wearables to give as gifts! A great DIY project loved ones would be grateful to receive!

We actually used three different techniques but they all had the same premise and that is to spotlight my budding artist's work. First we created a floral watercolor piece; secondly, we painted on an iron-on image transfer; and thirdly, we combined the water color with the image transfer.  All you need to recreate any of these projects is:

@MVEMother Reviews: IDO3D - 3D Art Studio

3D Drawing Kit Review - Ultimately this one got a thumbs up, despite the longer drying time.

I can not begin to tell you how excited I was about this review! Sure, the kids were eager to try out the IDO3D Drawer but not nearly as much as me.

All in all, it isn't a bad toy. The kids can't wait to play with it again. I think this is one of those times, that as an adult, I had unrealistic expectations. I mean, this is a toy designed for children not a state-of-the-art 3D drawing machine. And the fact of the matter is the kids enjoyed the process more than the final product. Which, to me is the point. They liked carefully drawing their designs, hitting it with the spotlight, and even waiting a little longer before 'glueing' them together. They didn't care that the dinosaur didn't stand up, and they wanted to turn the flower into a refrigerator magnet. (Watch video for reference.)

So, in the end, the IDO3D Art Studio got two thumbs up from my 10 and eight year old critics.

The kit featured in our video retails for about $19.99 and can be found at Wal-Mart, Toys-R-Us, and K-Mart. Thanks again for stopping by!

Stamping Kids Craft: Naughty or Nice Gift Tags

Naughty or Nice Stamped Christmas Gift Tags made using PSA Essentials Peel & Stick Stamps

Sometimes I feel like a poster child for Mom Fail. I have a list of projects to do with the kids and it always seems like we never have time to 'create' together. Last week I had my stamps sitting out and since the toddler was asleep, the two middles and I threw together these quick Naughty & Nice Gift Tags for Christmas.

We used 4x4 squares of paper, the Merry Christmas Peel & Stick Stamp Set, PSA Essential Stamper and Centering Block, both the Holiday Green and Holiday Red ink refills, and festive washi tapes.

I'm also sharing a dirty stamping secret so be sure to click that little read more button!
