|I received a copy of Washi Tape Crafts in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.|
Some of you may be familiar with Amy Anderson, she is the founder of modpodgerocksblog.com and author or Mod Podge Rocks!. What you may not know is that her crafty talents extend beyond decoupage. She is also the creative force behind washitapecrafts.com and last month released Washi Tape Crafts. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be sharing a little about the book with you today as well as some of my favorite projects from the book, like this Advent Calendar.
Since arriving from Japan, washi tape has quickly become a crafting staple due largely to its versatility. I didn't realize just how versatile until the first time I flipped through Washi Tape Crafts. There are 110 projects featured in the book, from jewelry and gift ideas to home decor and celebrations. But, what I really appreciated were the tips and techniques, like how to make bows and weatherproofing.
Esther and I decided to try out one of the home decor ideas that's also shown on the blog, Easy Washi Tape Switch Plates. Like most of the projects in this book, it only took about 20 minutes. The perfect amount of time to snag one of the kids and sit down for some one on one crafting time.
Here's how they turned out!
Did I mention the book includes ten rolls of tape? They're 18 ft. each and custom designed for this book, in other words, perfect for tackling some of the projects featured in it. So, I definitely give this one a giant thumbs up, it'd make an amazing gift idea for anyone of any age.
Here's one final favorite, aren't these rosettes amazing!?
