{this moment – inspired by Soulemama}

A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

I may have said that things would be quiet for a bit but I never intended for two weeks to go by without a word. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s been going on these past days.

  • Ultrasound two days before Christmas estimates that Mr. Spot is already 7 1/2 lbs. and growing.
  • Directly following the appt. I lost my sense of taste on the tip and one side of my tongue. I instantly thought Bell’s Palsy (I also had some facial twitching a few days before) but instead convinced myself it must be a weird pregnancy side effect.
  • Christmas passed, everyone had a good time and couldn’t wait to get home to put together their Lego sets. I didn’t bake as much as I’d like but I did get a batch of pumpkin butter and blueberry jam made, I will be sharing more about that later.
  • That Thursday and Friday the drywall guys finished the texturing on the walls of the addition, which meant we painted over the weekend. (If only the heat/air guy would get done…we’re going on two months to install one system.)
  • Another appt. this past Monday, told the nurse practitioner about the facial symptoms. She said keep an eye on it.
  • Ironically enough my eyes did help me keep the symptoms in check because that afternoon I realized my left eye was burning, went to the bathroom and tried to bat my eyelashes…only the right ones worked.
  • Thankfully my neurologist fit me in on New Year’s Eve, confirmed Bell’s Palsy, started a steroid treatment that shouldn’t have any negative impact on Mr. Spot.
  • New Year’s Eve passed. The kids had a blast with their Papa and Nama Nancy while Nate and I did nothing but the usual, watch tv and listen to music.
  • New Year’s Day we celebrated Christmas with my Mom who’d been in Texas the week before. Everyone had a good time and couldn’t wait to get home to put together their Tenkai Knights and Monster High dolls.

Now I’m looking forward to hopefully talking to my actual Dr. about inducing, and soon, as well as getting this addition done…floors will begin this Sunday. We’re trying something very “pinteresty” I will definitely be sharing! Speaking of which, I’ll have a few new posts over the next couple weeks as I make a mad dash to get a few baby projects done in a hurry! Until then…I hope you’re having a moment worth cherishing.

  1. Thinking of you . . . So glad you are monitoring your face so closely (that's a strange sentence, I know . . . But you know what I mean.) That is a pretty scary thing to go through at any time, I can't imagine the additional worries when you are pregnant. Here's to a happy, healthy and addition completed year for you, my friend!! Hugs!!!!

Thank you for leaving a comment, it really means a lot to me!
