Burnt King Cake

008

Last week I said I’d share an easy way to make a king cake. Well, here ya go.

This past couple weeks I feel like I’m struggling to keep up with the obligations and crazy situations I manage to get myself into. This time it was nasty pile of burnt dough that set off the smoke alarm and stunk up the house. And despite how horrible and unsalvageable it looked I just couldn’t let it go to waste without trying to save a few bites. So we picked off the burnt crust and ate the deliciously perfect center. Today I’m going to do the same thing with the other struggles I’m trying to make the best of…wish me luck.

Directions: Just go grab a tube of crescent rolls, roll them out-with a rolling pin to get rid of the preferations, cover with whatever gooey goodness you want-we went with 1/4 cup melted butter, 1/2 sugar, and 2 Tbsp of cinnamon, roll it back up, and then bake per the instructions on the tube. Once it’s done flip it over, push a little trinket into it, and then decorate with purple, green, and gold sprinkles.
