MLK Day and Crafterminds Chat

“We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”-Marin Luther King, Jr.

Today the kids and I will celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by studying the importance of social diversity, nonviolent protest, and remember the life and dreams of the man himself.

For my older son we’ll be reading and exploring The King Center website before adding our own dreams to their dream map. For the younger kids we’re going to work on this craft from Crayola. (see above)

AND ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOTE – The #crafterminds twitter chats are back for 2013 and I’m hosting the first one! Eeks! We’re going to be discussing our goals for 2013 and I’d love for you to join us even if it’s just to say hey. We’ll be starting at 4 p.m. EST, that means 3 p.m. for us Central folks. Hope to see you there! -Erin
