The Night Before Easter
‘Twas the night before Easter and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring,
not even that mouse.
The baskets were lined on the table with care
In hopes that the Easter bunny would soon be there.
Daddy in his boxers and I in my T
had just settled in with a box of Chablis.
When all of a sudden, there arouse such a clatter.
“If that dog got in the candy…” I was getting madder.
I ran up the stairs, racing for the dining room.
I tripped on the top step and fell with a boom.
My curses, they went flying, without thought.
I felt a wiggle under my belly. Can you guess what I’d caught?
The Easter Bunny! Now go to bed or no candy for you!
Happy Easter!
Hi, Erin!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at this one!
Easter is my favourite holiday and I still make a basket with chocolates for my son, now 17.
It is also a time for gratitude and renovation...
Happy Easter!
